My name is Elizabeth Townsley and I have been sculpting for over 4 years now.
I have an associates degree in Computer science and a bachelors degree in Social Work and Justice Studies. 13 Years ago I was diagnosed with Lupus as a result of a major flare-up. Finding myself stuck at home I sought out activities that would keep me busy without aggravating my Lupus. I initially did portrait drawings for people. One day I saw a tiny baby sculpt by artists Camille Allen and knew that's what I wanted to do.
I sculpted my first baby about 4 years ago, at the time I thought she was gorgeous, now I laugh when I see her!
Sculpting is a process that takes time and practice. For those of you just starting out don't be discouraged by your first sculpts! Every sculpter I have spoken to or met are as a amazed as I am at what their beginning sculpts looked like. Keep going and practicing and you will get better. As I continue to sculpt, my sculpts continue to be refined.
Sculpting for me is a joy in and of itself, having others find joy in my babies is an added bonus!
